Attempting to keep this blog alive

I did eventually hear from LA's Department of Transportation. Here is the email, in it's entirety:

Sorry, but City of LA does not have a parking database.

Straight to the point.

Debating between two routes:

1. Use the NYC database. Create the functionality of displaying parking data over a visual map.

2. Attempt to decipher parking signs from images, then parse them into a data format like the NYC database.

Option 1 doesn't preclude the other. The functionality would be shared.
